Getting a Life…Our Members Do!

Have you ever caught yourself saying “when I retire I’ll…”? Last fall, I sent a brief survey to all of our Life Members (401) and heard back from 97. Many included tidbits of the directions their life has taken since they retired:

– Gloria Schwarzlose (TX) enjoys keeping up with friends and hearing about NAE4-HA.

– William Thomas (VA) is now employed full time as a teacher.

– Merle Eyestone (KS) enjoys getting News and Views and is waiting for a national meeting to come to Kansas!

– Rollie Manthe (WI) is really busy with “retirement things”.

– Ted Jenkins (NY) is employed by the Locust Valley School district and does gardening for clients.

– Ruth Moe (WY) is involved in a national rec. association.

– Charlie Lang (NJ) found retirement to be another career move – program review for the school district, Labo 4-H International Forum plus other things.

– Norman Walker (ID) likes to receive News & Views and enjoys surfing the Web.

– Gene Rohrbeck (WY) works seasonally in Yellowstone National Park.

– Earl Mullen (NY) is President of Region XI, Wally Byam Caravan Club (Airstream).

– Rollyn Winters (NY) says hi to everyone!

– Norman Everson (WI) enjoys getting together with other retirees each October in Wisconsin. He also likes the NAE4-HA web site.

– Jerry Mucahy (NY) is starting a landscaping business.

– Jack Tyree (VA) is busy with family but wants to know how the national ad campaign is going.

– AP Coleman (NC) says staying active is the best way to stay in the loop!

– Russ Smith (NJ) is planning to attend the 1998 Conference in Kentucky.

– And finally from Marilyn Tileson, (FL)… “How about a Life Member page in News & Views”? Great idea and thanks!

“Getting a Life…” will now appear each year in the May issue of News & Views. Contributions and tidbits should be sent to the editor, Patricia Dawson. Her address is listed with the Board of Trustees of NAE-4HA.
